FAQs
-
To help every person on the Internet realize the value of their personal data for both individual gain and the common good.

You’re being taken advantage of, and you deserve better. Sadly, the big tech companies profiting most from the state of the Internet right now have the least incentive to change their behavior, which means if change is going to come, it will need to be driven by the market. It starts with taking control of your data and doing better things with it.
We want you to know what your data’s worth and who wants it, so whenever it’s bought or sold, you get cut in on the deal.
This isn’t about burning everything down and starting again. It’s about taking what works and making it work better and getting rid of bad practices as we go.

No.
Data mining companies and data brokers don’t need (or ask for) your consent whereas OkTY does 100% of the time.
OkTY’s secure platform and mobile app makes it possible for you to get paid for your data, which you can do two ways:
1. Get paid for connecting your spending activity and geolocation to your personal OkTY account (on the OkTY platform).
2. Get paid for trading your data with brands. Data trades are opt-in and optional exchanges of data with brands and companies for cash, incentives, discounts, and other economic benefits.
Put simply: you store your data with OkTY and OkTY keeps your data (and identity) safe and secure, whilst also providing the tools to help you get paid for your data and do good with it.
-
With your permission, OkTY safely and securely collects the following data types:
Personal Data - First name, last name, email, address, gender , and mobile number.
Spending Activity - Via our partnership with Plaid Technologies Inc. we pull data from users’ financial institutions including ACH authentication information, account and routing numbers, transaction data, identity verification information, transaction details, and account balance details.
Geolocation Data - Real time tracking and aggregation of geographic location.
-
That’s entirely up to you.
But you can trade your data with confidence knowing all the brands you see on OkTY have been vetted, and are subject to strict privacy protocols and compliance measures.
-
Businesses want your data for insights, marketing, R&D, and... to help them sell more stuff, which is fine, so long as they respect you (the data owner) and your right to say “I don’t want to be approached by your company anymore”.
By using a platform like OkTY (and its data trade advertising format) you’re able to choose and control what information businesses can see and access.
This kind of consent is considered especially valuable because it's double opt-in data - which means a person has chosen to share it - not had it mined, harvested, or scraped.
Your consent makes the data more valuable because (i) it generally means the data will be more accurate, and (ii) it implies a deeper level of engagement.
-
OkTY makes money by enabling businesses to find their biggest fans and place contextual data trades (promotional offers) in front of them.
OkTY charges businesses for access to the platform, matching them with OkTY customers, and trading data with customers (if they purchase goods and/or services via OkTY).

Ok, Thank You.
